On the 25th November 2017, we presented the finalists in our playwriting festival. This show was attended by over 120 people. We would like to thank all those involved in this show.

Absent - A Drama

Synopsis

Ava and Lucas Benton are a set of twins who do not know they are. They were separated by their parents as babies and therefore, never met. The twins have been living completely different lives, going through completely different things but both share one thing in common. They feel incomplete, as though something is missing but they have no idea what. Amidst their challenges they’re both facing, news breaks and life brings them together.

It's My Choice - A Romantic Drama

Synopsis

Matthew has been diagnosed with a brain tumour and has been told he has only months to live. He decides that he wants to end his life and has to tell his family and girlfriend Hannah that he is going to do this. Can his family and Hannah change his mind.

Quiet Night In- A Dramatic Comedy

Written by Lia Kater & Directed by Yasmin Stenson

Synopsis:
Two sisters prepare dinner, one cooks but the other posts online. When mum arrives home she falls victim the social media obsession. The younger sister, forced to consider her employment options redeems herself with her technological savvy sister, showing that she may not be as superficial and lazy as she appears.

Night Train From Rastani- A Dramatic Thriller

Written by James Forte & Directed by Cassandra Menne

Synopsis:
Fear. A Businessman, a Girl and a Boarder Guard face each other in the middle of the night and cannot speak each other’s language. Set in Eastern (communist) Europe in 1978.

Our Mate...Bill- A Comedy

Written & Directed by Rosetta Fitzgerald

Synopsis:
Two young men meet at a local bar. Upon realising that they are mutal mates with “Bill”, their ensuing conversation tells of one of Bill’s characteristic “tight spots”.

The Young Ones- A Comedy

Written & Directed by Dan Gillgren

Synopsis:
Mabel 72, has been madly in love with Cliff Richard for 55 years, ever since he released the song “The Young Ones” in 1962. “They are meant to be together” and nothing will get in their way. Not even her sister Alice!
